Boring Road, Boring Canal Road and Patliputra Colony: registry office, MVR codes, road widths and what to check before a token.
Checked by Prem Parkash Yadav · 30 October 2026
Boring Road, Boring Canal Road and Patliputra Colony are roads and mohallas, not revenue villages. On the Registration Department's MVR portal (checked 30 October 2026) they are listed under the Patna registry office, circle "Patna" (Patna Sadar): Boring Road (573), Boring Patliputra Road (612), East Boring Canal Road (234), West Boring Canal Road (218), New Patliputra/Patliputra Colony (225) and Nageshwar Colony (Boring Road Area) (235). Master Plan 2031 measured Boring Road at 15.24–22.86 m and lists it for widening to 27.43 m. A name trap: the portal lists four "Nageshwar Colony" entries: Boring Road Area (235), Beur Area (112) and two for Hathua Market (437 and 474). None of these names is in the Patliputra township village list.

Boring Road (573), Boring Canal Road (234 and 218) and Boring Patliputra Road (612) have different MVR codes. Match the mohalla and thana number on your papers with the right code before you work out the registry cost.
The MVR portal lists Nageshwar Colony for Boring Road Area (235), Beur Area (112) and Hathua Market (437 and 474). Read the thana number on your khatiyan or deed to know which one is yours.
If your plot faces Boring Road or Boring Canal Road, ask PMAA in writing whether the widening line touches it before you pay extra for road frontage.
Check the road width against the mixed-use table: the commercial share (20%, 30% or 40%) depends on the road width and plot size. A 40 ft road is the minimum.
If the project is on more than 500 sq m of land or has more than 8 flats (all phases counted together), it must be registered with RERA Bihar. Search the project on the RERA site and match the builder, plot and approved map before you book.

The Master Plan 2031 lists Boring Road for widening to 27.43 m and Boring Canal Road to 33.53 m (Annexure 20). It is a proposal in the plan. The plan gives no date or line for the work.
Mixed use is permitted on plots on a road of 40 ft or more. The commercial share depends on the road: 20% on a 12 m road with a 500 sq m plot, 30% on 18 m with 1,000 sq m, 40% on 30 m or more with 1,500 sq m (PMP Table 56, p134).
No. The Patliputra township is a separate draft plan for villages in nine blocks. Patliputra Colony is a Patna city colony and is not among the 273 villages in Notification 4655.
